Chinese-Australian painter Fan Dongwang's 9 Rocks painting won the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority’s 2004 Art on The Rocks Prize. It depicts multiple scenes at Sydney landmark the Rocks. Using a Chinese multiple perspective approach, Dr Fan, who holds a PHD in Creative Art from the University of Wollongong, was judged the best from a pool of 61 artists short-listed from more than 400 submissions. “I am very happy to have participated in Art on The Rocks this year. I am attracted to The Rocks with its many heritage buildings. I prepared for my painting by walking around The Rocks and looking at the buildings from different perspectives,” said Dr Fan.

All paintings are acrylic on canvas.
